Where is the party going?
I would like to raise only one topic today. For the last few days debate is going on VVIP culture. BJP as a party of difference had claimed toput an end to it. Where is the initiative? Lakhs of viewers are watching Arnab's program. Already it has become a topic of discussion. And the party and leaders are mum. What is the attitude of the spokesperson?? Is there any shame on keeping your promises. People's mind set have changed. Either we are not realizing this or we are happy that we have come to power for 5 years and achieved everything. Stop this VIP culture. People are going to appreciate it. And I am going ask again and again of your decision. more

It is OK for TV channels to pick up issues like this and hype it unreasonably. They care only about viewership and creating an artificial stir is also OK as long as there is a lot of froth and noise. One cannot totally wipe out VIP status and culture in the Indian paradigm as of now. It would be practically impossible to function then. Not merely from the security threat angle. We are not so advanced socio-economically like say the Scandinavian countries to have the Ministers catch the town bus to reach their offices without fellow commuters bothering them with so much as a glance. I do not know why we get carried away so much by such hype and roll along with it unthinkingly. Of course the only thing is the VIP status should not be misused or overdone that's all. more

I know it is a difficult task, but the top bosses have to set an example by shunning VIP privileges. Then only will the message go down to the lower levels. BJP ought to hold seminars for their MPs to discuss such issues and make them understand that this is not going to help them in the long run. The younger generation is getting impatient. British PMs also sometimes travel by local metro to save time and that too without the paraphernalia of security (http://freedomfirst.in/issue/articles.aspx?id=8015) If these representatives are so scared of being killed, they should not join politics. They should pay for their own security. Why should the tax payer pay for the security of all these so called "peoples'" representatives? more

I also agree. BJP has not learnt lesson from Delhi election. Their spokesperson are behaving like Boss of common people and shamelessly arguing in support VVIP culture.what congress did in past, same mistakes (after getting in power after almost decade) BJP is making. Though we elected Mr. Modi for PM post now we are feeling cheated after hearing their spoke persons arrogant remarks. Congratulations to our delhi people for giving a solid reply to this arrogance electing only 3 MLA's . It is more disastrous loss than congress in Loksabha. more

I agree, if you want to be different and be counted in this era you will have to keep your ears to the ground and have an Hawk eye to learn the pulse of the common man. Else it will turn out to be another KHANGRESS. A sad day for all of us more
