What do you mean by 'edhatha kuduthaa madatha pidipom'? Think who is doing it by increasing reservation from 20% to 69% and that too by extending it to job promotion as well! Reservation was introduced for SC/STs in 1952 and not for OBCs or MBCs. Present day reservation is purely vote bank politics. We are ready to do role reversal by doing farming, etc. etc. I am confident that I can excel in these so-called non-Brahmin fields. But which bank gives us loans or which govt encourages this? What do you think a temple priest earns? Why shoud Karunanidhi a non-believer in God interfere in this? The present day idol theft to swindling of money from hundials are all orchestrated by allowing non-brahmins take over temple which is utterly shameful! In fact, if I send my kid to corporation school, they are discriminated in that laptop and bicyles are given to non-Brahmins! In what way is this equality? It is simply poisoning the mind of school kids! First understand that Brahminism is not a caste but way of living. Without practising Brahminism, you cannot scale heights because you will not have focus if you drink or smoke or eat meat since it influences your brain. Let me tell you that most of the present day brahmins are not brahmins since these guys have also started doing these. Let us come to actual discussion: To eliminate this menace and real affirmative action, govt should change educational system by focusing more on skill-based system. STs are good in forestry - why not train them environment, forestry, etc.? SCs are good in farming. Why not educate them in modern farming practices? Who said sitting in front of computer or being a priest in temple is dignity of labour and all other jobs are crap? If you do any ob sincerely and think out of the box, anyone can excel! Let us now revisit how reservation was introduced to identify the root cause of this menace. Reservation was first started by Britishers in 1882 to bring SC/ST into main stream. SC/ST are indigenous people of India who relied on natural resources (forest, nomads, etc.). The present education system was introduced by Britishers before 400 years when they invaded. At that time, the one and only educational system available in India was gurukulam based. There was absolutely no restriction on who should enroll in it. This gurukulam-based one is different from vedha paatashaala that teaches vedham apart from what is taught in gurukulam. Again, there is no restriction though only Brahmins preferred it. People from all other castes inherited jobs, mostly trades, from their fore fathers. Examples are carpentry, farming, sculpting, masonry, military, weaving, etc. etc and people from other caste just focused on that. Also, a Brahmin cannot be a ruler because that required a different level of skills to manage/rule people which Brahmins did not have. This exist even today. When British education was the only means before independence (and now), those who attended gurukulam slowly adopted to British (Christians) educational system for survival. Again, understand that Brahmins never stopped or influenced other caste people from not joining this stream. In fact, most of the Christian schools and colleges that are today were established back in 1700's. When British rule continued and other trades diminished due to heavy tax and swindling of goods, people from other religion joined Britishers as soldiers and educated people took administrative jobs. Again, there is a confusion here that Brahmins joined hands with Britishers to rule India. To defend this, let me ask a simple question: Who were the Indian soldiers who participated in Jallian Wallabagh massacre or others who opposed freedom fighters? Is it Brahmins? The answer is BIG NO! Then came our present-day pseudo secular heroes like Karunanidhi and Periyar. These guys twisted the tales (in fact brainwashed non-Brahmins) that Brahmins are ruling India by occupying administrative positions in British rule! None of these guys are really interested in improving the life of any India - be it Brahmin or SC/ST! Then came the independence and Ambedkar introduced reservation for SC/ST for 20% in 1952. Let me ask a question: there are so many prominent, educated non-Brahmin names around 1950s - where did they get the education from? Where does the logic of Brahmins suppressing them comes from? As a matter of fact, my own father who stood 3rd in Madras presidency was denied seat in medical college back in 1954 because my father could not afford fees for medical college run by Alagappa Chettier! The biggest twist came in 1978 when VP Singh introduced Mandal commission to give reservation to OBCs. Back then, there was hardly 300+ OBC castes. Now, it stands at 6000 plus! All due to greediness and vote bank politics! This continues even today under Modi! But following are the facts: (1) 3% Brahmin population never suppressed SC/STs to whom reservation was introduced by Ambedkar (2) Most SC/ST atrocities are committed by OBCs and MBCs (Ilavarasan murder to all honour killing) (3) You cannot put Brahmins in starting line and put others in 70 mts spot in a 100 mts race which is actual inequality!
