WHO declares Coronavirus global pandemic

The World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic a few hours back. We the active citizens must discuss each and every step that Govt must take to contain this.

"In the past two weeks the number of cases outside China has increased thirteenfold and the number of affected countries has tripled," WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a press conference at the organization's headquarters in Geneva. "In the days and weeks ahead, we expect to see the number of cases, the number of deaths and the number of affected countries to climb even higher."

Tedros said several countries have demonstrated the ability to suppress and control the outbreak, but he scolded other world leaders for failing to act quickly enough or drastically enough to contain the spread.

"We're deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity, and by the alarming levels of inaction," he said, just before declaring the pandemic. "We have rung the alarm bell loud and clear." more

To get panic creates more unrest and insecurity. It is right that we must stand with the government understand their policies and follow them discreetly. Besides in our country we have a rich resource of indigenous system of medicine which enable us to keep not only fit but also healthy and strong that no virus enters the body Be patient and stand together Dr S.Sanyal more
Our Govt. is pro-active and is doing everything possible to contain Coronavirus. We all too should do our best best and cooperate and assist the Govt. by abiding by the dos and don"ts as being advised by the authorities. more
Its amazing to see the members different view on this certainly serious problem faced by majority of the countries. The learned members have already gone into remorse? please let us not be hopeless, this is India the land of worlds best brains, finest humans, highly spiritually awakened people and top of that the weather patterns with holistic traditions and cultures. We have faced much more grave natural as well as manmade dissasters but we always came bank more stronger then ever. There is only one threat that is deliberate ignorance which may result in certain numbers of casualties rest assured we may not suffer the way rest of the world is suffering. Soon the entire country is going to experience 35 + temperature which is not conducive for the virus to survive..(Gujrat doesnt have a single case as of now). the spices being used by every Indian household already works like anti virus, the use of tea and coffee is certainly prohibitive for the easy spread of this Virus..rest assured India and Indians are better off!! perhaps our government is doing exceptional work on this. more
