Wholesale corruption has demoralised armed forces
The recent terror attack in Pathankot air base exposes the false sense of security we are enjoying all these days. When 6 Pak trained terrorists can kill 7 well trained and well equipped army men, what kind of security the nation can expect from the armed forces. Pak has developed thousands terrorists and at this rate terrorists alone would be sufficient to deal with our armed forces. This is not a surprise attack. Enough intelligence warning was available about the presence of terrorists. Unscrupulous politicians have infiltrated corruption in all areas of government including military. Starting with Bofors scam, the corrupt politicians had a say in every purchase of military hardware as could be seen from the sub standard fighting power. This has demoralized the fighting spirit of the army. Several army men have become vulnerable to sex and corruption and this trend has been made use of by the ISI through successful infiltration. Even though the people of India fed up with the corrupt dynasty rule gave BJP absolute majority, it is sad that Modi circar is continuing the legacy of the previous regime giving our enemy an upper hand. more

Corruption is there in all departments whether its Army, Navy, Air Force, IT, Sales Tax, Registrar, any Tax Departments, everywhere. its difficult to control but not impossible. When scams happen it doesn't happen without the support of insider so whether defense, tax Departments, clubs, and so on, there are people who are involved in it. Only a good system can control this and self ethics is must, no doubt. more

incentives are meant to promote efficiency and improve performance but in Govt. deprtments the incentives in the form of speed money are available for being inefficient and delayed performance. Unless the delivery time of each service is quantified and fixed and laggards penalized , governance can never improve. more

Mr Ram doesnt seem to know the functioning & role of the Army. The Indian Army is considered to be the most professional and corrupt free organisation of the country. The Bofors & whatsoever scams you can think of are initiated by politicians and not by any Defense officials. You cannot command ppl without integrity who are ready to lay their lives on your orders. This is a subject that can be difficult for an outsider to comprehend without going thru it existentialy. more

Corruption is the root cause of all things. Intelligentia is very much lacking in all fronts, also i.e., Army. Pak is spending a lor of money to train terroists. They themselves become victims of terroism. Mr. Parikkar is an educated, tough defence minister. U cannot expect miracles in 18 months of Modi's rule. EliminAting corruption and bringing work culture had cost Modi loosing election in Delhi. It would take minimum ten years to see the transformation. Will Congress led by sonia family allow ? more
