Why buy a car when we are paying 65% taxes

Taxes on vehicles are crazy!!!

Tax on sonet 29%. It's 4 meter car.

Tax on Seltos 45%. It's 4.3 meter car.

Alag se, you have to pay 10-15% RTO. 18% Gst on insurance.

You end up paying up to 65% tax! more

Do not compare the 80s versus now. In the 89s even if you had Anzac there was no power 24 hours a day. It is the same with politicians. In the pre-liberalization era of the 1980s, air conditioners were heavily taxed, reaching 131.25% or more. This led to a 150%+ tax incidence for middle-class consumers. Post-GST, air conditioners fall under the 28% tax slab, significantly lower than the earlier combined tax rates. The lower tax burden, increased affordability, economies of scale, climate change, and technological advancements have made air conditioners more accessible to the common man. Today, air conditioners are a practical solution to India's scorching summers, seen across homes, offices, and rural areas. more
