Why Delhi state assembly in state of suspension?
The re-election to the Delhi assembly was not announced by the Central govt. was based on the contention that the re-election process would cause the burden of huge expenditure. Since the election for central govt is already on cards, the expenditure for re-election to the Delhi assembly would have been much reduced and in fact may be insignificant. If the Delhi assembly is not put to the re-election along with Parliament elections and elections are held separately after the elections to the Parliament, it would involve a huge expenditure and will be a burden on the exchequer.
So keeping Delhi assembly in a state of suspension is a futile exercise and with a malafide intention. In fact it seems that the Congress and BJP are afraid that the 'AAP' is likely to comeback with thumping majority and is therefore in the best interest of both the parties to have collusion and jointly ensure that the 'AAP' does not come back to power. more
