Garbage from household is not as big issue than the dangerous toxic wastes from factories and manufacturing units. Government failed to apply strict measures for these in terms of treatment and disposal. The authorities are corrupt and the huge waste is never controlled. Plastic / Polythene production must be under strict guidelines and license. The quantity manufactured must be controlled. Almost every product is now packaged in small to large sachet, polythene pouches, plastic bags. Small torn pieces could not be collected for recycling. Result is a rising toxic waste all around. more

Of course it will help a lot,if we really want to make swachh Bharat,then government officials should take strong actions and implement them, not just talking n discussing.. We need to destroy the roots of cause first.. more

Good idea. The trash bags sold in Switzerland have the local government's approval stamp. They ar fairly priced at about sFr. 3 (about $3.25) for one 35 litre bag. The money goes to the local government for garbage management, and people who produce more garbage pay more for the bags they need. No other bags or open garbage allowed. So the people produce less garbage, recycle more. I hope, I am not giving some municipalities/politicians an idea for a new scam. :) more
