Why EPFO does not control fraud organisation.

Hi, all I was working with an organisation in cyber hub (Gurugram). The organisation I was working for did not deposit my PF properly missing out employers share almost completely and employee share to some extent,it is interesting to know that EPFO also does not took any action against it despite of knowing the scenario, now the organisation is closed all of sudden and I wonder who is responsible for the loss occured to employees, Kyc(bank details approval) and exit date of certain employees like me is still not done and EPFO dont do Kyc for people like us even if you send them all proofs and asked us to get it done from employer which is now nowhere because organisation is already shut down.
So ultimately our all money got sunked ,the money which was not deposited and the bit which is deposited we can not withdraw.
Also it's not about the money but it is all about the financial security and others benefits which you get from EPFO if your hard earned money gets deposited.
At the last I would like to suggest EPFO to take strict against against the employers(i believe there will be thousand of organisation) who are not abiding by the law,Also I suggest all working people to keep an eye and if you find your employer is playing with your future raise your voice against it which we missed out and finally it's us who is suffering. more

Once you have register the universal account number, every month when you and your employer contribute to your EPF account, you will receive an SMS alert from the EPFO. This will be similar to the SMS alerts you receive every time your bank account is credited or debited. You can even check your total balance by downloading the EPF passbook. You can file a Right to Information application to the regional EPFO. You need to mention your EPF account number and your employer code. If you still find your employer has not deposited the deducted PF with the trust or EPF then you can do following • You can file a criminal case against your employer. You file a written complaint against your employer in the local police station. • You can also take this up with the provident fund department by sending an email to [email protected] To furnish a written complaint in your regional PF office, you can get the relevant contact details at http:www.epfindia.com. • You can complain to the chief vigilance officer appointed by the labour ministry. You can email at [email protected] . • You can approach your regional PF inspector for action against your employer. Please ensure that for all complaints you produce your salary slips showing PF deduction and your employer’s name, address and, if possible, PF registration number. if a company is found to be non-compliant with its PF deposits, it will not only have to pay the dues but also pay an interest penalty on the same, depending on the number of days of delayed payment. more

You have to file complaint on line to EPFO at www.epfigms.gov.in more
I suggest EPF Act needs to be amended giving the authority power to penalise/proscute the employers who do not deposit both the contributions within the date fixed for the purpose. There needs a mechanism to chase the defaulters in this respect. It is better to fix the issue at the very beginning rather than chasing after long period. PF return also must be filed alongwith the deposit. This should be possible with technology in place. Alongwith UAN, every employee must know the PF registration number of his/her employer with EPF office. Similarly KYC updation of employees must be done in EPF site by the employer within a fortnight from the date of joining and an acknowledgement must be given to the employee which will ease out the matter. At the end of the day, every employee must be made accountable for the good governance of the EPF itself. more
