Why gas Govt increased duty on oil imports

Prices of refined oil are rising now and consumer household bill is going up.

When people have savings and earnings squeeze prices of vegetables are through the roof, they want oil also to go up.

That too before festival season..:.
Do better please

It is an established fact that annual INFLATION in INDIA is 10-12 %. The only problem is for those who have fixed income or the Non Pensioner Senior Citizens. Rest are getting it compensated thru Inflation index of Central Govt. more
Ms Kajal Singh ji Do central govt listen to what common voter and citizen wants ? Celebration has been made into a luxury now - thanks to central govt? Yours etc RG Noida  On Thursday 26 September, 2024 at 12:17:57 pm IST, Kajal Singh wrote: more
It has been the tradition of the nation that every year during the festive season the prices of edible oils as also many other consumable items go up. The prices get eased gradually once the festive season is over and the harvesting season of Kharif crops knocks our doors. In the months of January & February the prices of many items, particularly vegetables go down to such extent that the farmers are not able even to get back even their out of pocket expenses, viz. labour & transportation charges for procuring & marketing thereof. But as consumers, our focus is always one sided, i.e. uprising of prices. If we look back of the history of price rise of essentials for last 30 years or more, we would see similar trend prevailed then as well and all the governments of those period were also unable to check this trend. more
Well said, I would go one step further. She is not to be blamed. It is our PM Modi. He is demanding and workaholic. It is ok but he should not be fooling public through Manki baat. People gave him 10 years to revive this highly corrupted system. He fell short of people's expectation. He had every opportunity to reduce Petrol and Diesel prices but stood firm. It would have helped to bring down the prices of essentials. Mr PM, either you perform or perish. Let others have the opportunity. more
Looks like Govt is busy with election every six months and don't have time to look into public woos and apathy. Not even once we had a day to celebrate on price issues or reduction by the govt. Once the Election is over our PM is busy visiting countries or G7/G20/G10/Quad/SCO, you name it. I am not against Modi Govt but certainly disappointed to see high inflation. On one hand they take the credit of India being the only country in the world to maintain GDP growth compared to China. How does this help common household? May be it is time for BJP to go. more
