Why Govt need three OMC?
It’s high time when Indian Oil Corporation be subdivided in to Indian Petrol Corporation and Indian Diesel Corporation. Why government need three OMC? Government stack in BPCL and HPCL should be disinvested and size of Indian Petrol Corporation and Indian Diesel Corporation can be increased to requirement of essential services. In the present scenario, OMC should work on No profit No loss bases as long as India is not becoming self sustainable. All the refineries be kept out of these OMC where business model as a normal company could be maintained. more

Multiple PSUs in same industry doesn't make any sense be it OMC or insurance or banking. When all sectors are open to private sector and PSU presence is strategic, only one large PSU is better than multiple. more

Do we have three or two alternative companies on same activity? How to run a company and deal with employees is an art and one need a administrator, even though he/she is part of the system, but can run the show. more

Mr Dinesh, we need an administrator to deal such strikes, (moreover such company will come under essential service rule) but not to keep such infrastructure which makes a dent on national exchanger. Keeping IOC, HPCL, BPCL under government control is not on strike fear, they are under government control just like Air India and many other PSU to absorb many other expenses of ruling politicians. more
