Why I support hydrocarbon project ?

There are thousands of acres ofagricultural land in delta region.   The land area taken for gas exploration wells would not  be  more than 200 acres.

Hundreds of  acres of agricultural land  have been converted for construction of flatsand housing colonies in Tamil Nadu including some areas in delta region. Does anyone know that the present Thillainagar in Tiruchi with vast area was once a fertile agricultural land. Why nobody speaks about this ?

Everyone wants transportationfacilities. But, can automobile run without oil and gas.  There are around 450 gas wells in India and thousands of gas wells abroad. where there are no hazards. Have anyone visited these areas to see that there are no hazards there .

In India, rice yield is  2.4 tonnes per hectare, whereas in China the  yield is  4.7 tonnes per hectare  and in Brazil it is 3.6 tonnes per hectare. Why not demand more technology efforts forhigher yield in India.

We need rice and we need oil and gas too.  We need objective analysis based on facts and figures and at the same time offering   adequate compensation to the land owners whooffer the land for gas exploration.

There is no need to take ground water for gas exploration, as water can be provided by separate desalination plants from sea water.

Good to see a post with facts/figures. As I said in my reply against your previous post, truth becomes a casualty in all the din and noise by vested interests. more

There are thousands of incultivable, waste and dry land all over our country. Do you need to destroy only cultivable lands. If things go on like this our country will become another Somalia. Source food and livelihood are targeted especially in Tamilnadu. To make money at any cost, even costing lives. more
The original poster is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT> i CHECKED THE FACTS, AND HISTORY OF GAS/HYDROCARBON USES IN OTHER COUNTRIES LIKE USA, CANADA, FRANCE, SWITZERLAND EVEN. THE MATTER HAS BEEN OVERBLOWN BY INDIA , ENVIRONMENTALISTS ET.C. I AGREE FULLY WITH THE ORIGINAL POSTER. The countries I have mentioned, changed their policies to draw hydrocarbons from their own countries durig the time when OPEC ARBITRARILY JACKED UP PRICES OF ITS PRODUCTS. PITY WE ARE BEING MISLED AND OUR POLITICIANS ARE NOT EXPLAINING PROPERLY. more
