WHY municipalities are not obliged by law or the Mayor held responsible for not building a recycling plant as in FRANCE ? THERE the mayor can not hide the public household or industrial waste far from people's eyes by hiding them in forest and polluting them as here in NILGIRIS in TAMIL NADU ..WHY not make MAYOR or a STATE SERVICE take care of the infrastructure needed to recycle the daily waste we generate ...hiding is a time bomb not a perennial solution. Every town with a x number of population should be equipped with a recycling plant of the y capacity corresponding to the population strength. more

Our babus and netas only look for short-term achievement, they are void of vision. more
Civilisation made us to create systems and processes, so that we all could live in the best and clean environment. All these systems and processes are a success, outside India, even in the thirdworld countries. However nothing works here. Reason is Babus and Netas. Their priorities do not match the necessities of the civil society. more
Recycling of waste is the urgent need. All municipal corporations must adopt it forthwith and the Gvt. must take immediate action against the Municipals not doing this more
We must change yes. But the municipality and local bodies are regularly burning the garbage in-spite of the Supreme court order. more
First and foremost I feel that we ourselves are to blame for this situation. The present convenience of using a plastic bag is so overwhelming, that we do not bother about the future of our own children. How many of us have picked up the thin plastic bags, lying around us, in our daily lives. Segregation is another issue which is not taken seriously by the members of a household. Even the maids and workers are not guided properly and we ourselves look for convenience over our duty towards the society. Please change our own attitudes, and love our country and society. more
