Why Russia has not taken the issue to UNO

If Russian government has suspicion that Ukraine would join NATO and think that this would be a security threat for Russia, it could have taken the matter to UNO and conveyed it’s protest and concern about such possible development and explained the basis for it’s stand.

It could have insisted on voting in UNO on a resolution that could prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. Russia has not exercised such option of going to UNO and building world opinion against Ukraine joining NATO. Probably, many countries might have supported such Russia’s move in UNO, appreciating Russia’s concern.

Agree. A very valid argument, Mr.Venkataraman. Attacking Ukraine just shows that Russia's intention's are ulterior. Moreover, being a oligarchy, in a world where democratic freedom has been practised as a development model of co-existance, how can a nation forcefully dictate another whether to join NATO or not! Attack, that too, many, one after another, by Russia is shocking! No peaceful resolution on their mind, rather the agenda of usurpation, like the earlier colonisers did, seems the obvious motive. Disgusting. more

So long as War and Peace are friends , there are immaterial-issues . But, when War and Peace are enemies , there are non-immaterial-issues. When John Kerry , the American, campaigned for de-Russiaunization of Ukraine instead of Climate Change Sciences , less bothered was the World.
