Why should one buy EVs
EVs in India are ridiculously priced. Zero financial sense in buying yet. Buy only if you deeply concerned about the environment and 35% money premium upfront is not an issue

Where are the charging stations? And the govt will go slow on setting up these since they would lose taxes on conventional fuel.

If more than 30 years old and juggad vehicles are discarded, there will no need for EVs. BS IV OR VI engines emit negligible pollution. No one checks the highly polluting vehicles in any city or town due to vote bank politics n corruption. Chandigarh is no exception.

Petrol vehicles are good enough if 100% India's vehicles are petrol. Was environment a concern 40 years back? Diesel in SUVs/vehicles caused the pollution. Diesel cheapness the reason. Petrol MPFI engines extremely clean. Up in the premier hierarchy someone changed the equation. Aggregate environmental costs and premium upfront the former paid. Delhi's CNG bus fleet and electric metro's pluses got neutralised. EVs battery environmentally an issue. Now SIAM Society for Indian Automobile Manufacturers dictate prices.
