Why you couldnt get your tickets
Ticket cartel has been busted and 300 agents were arrested in nationwide raids by RPF. Using unauthorised software, these IRCTC agents could book nearly 50 per cent of all tickets available on any given day within 50 seconds of online booking opening.
Tickets worth Rs 11 lakh have been seized by the CR so far. The WR has seized tickets worth Rs 10 lakh
Agents affiliated to the gang used a software that allowed them to bypass not only security clearances like CAPTCHA that detects bots, but also the process of OTP generation and submission. This gave the gang’s agents an advantage of around 30 seconds over other travel agents and individual customers, allowing them to corner hundreds of thousands of tickets before others could even log-in.
I just wonder how many such gangs operate across India and I can imagine most of them do because there is collusion. more

Catching and punishing of agent is not big issue it has been done many times in past and will constitute in future the problem is railway and rail ministry is paralyze when it comes to find out the root cause of the problem and solution to be provided. Remember if we are unable to identity the root cause of any problem then providing any instant issue will not resolve it forever. Still the law is more flexible for the unauthorized agents when it comes to tatkal tickets of finding the confirm seat on busy routes. There are still illegal agents active in the market who are involve in ticket blackmailing and people are unwillingly, if they find no solution or confirm seat forced to buy the tickets at higher price because the force to travel for some purpose. more

Tatkal gang is operated by Railway babus only by dummy dalals . Railway allows these dummies to have direct access to server and take control of serversd. Nothing can happen without connivance of Railways yet Railway Board in impotent enough to not to take any action against his own gang of hard core criminals. more

As per news appeared in to-day's news papers, 3310 tatkal tickets on Howrah-Delhi rout alone were booked within two minutes by these gangs using hacking soft ware. Accordingly, it can be easily imagined about total of such malpractices taking place daily all over the nation aggregating crores of rupees and depriving lakhs of passengers from getting confirmed tickets through proper channel. I am not sure whether it is possible or not for the railways to plug the loop holes in the present era of fast developing technology! If not, in my opinion the railways should actively consider to drastically cut down allocation of berths under 'Tatkal'. more

I AGREE WITH SHRI Dipak Himatsingka that these culprits should be punished by law at least for RI of 4 years and their agency should be cancelled permanently. What has been found in investigation so far is not even the tip of Iceburg (11 Lakhs in all India is not even Chicken feed.). ryk. more
