Why you shouldnt skip Breakfast

1. Skipping breakfast or any meal for that matter can reduce the metabolic rate in the body. This reduces the speed at which calories are used up; thereby, reducing the weight loss process. Skipping a meal is not the solution to weight loss but eating right at all meals is.
2. When you fast for several hours or more, the supply of glucose to your brain dwindles. This can impair your concentration, focus, memory and mood.
3. Fasting makes your body feel that there is less energy supply (Starvation mode) so it starts storing even the small amount of calories i.e. not burning the consumed calories
4. Skipping breakfast slows your body's response to insulin. As more insulin accumulates in your bloodstream, your insulin sensitivity declines--and you accumulate, store and keep fat longer. This way, your weight goes up. more

Yes, we should not skip breakfast as the initial energy for the day comes from here. But partial reductions in quantity and calorific value in lunch and particularly in dinner will help a lot in weight loss program. A minimum 50% of ones food intake should gradually reach by fruits, green vegetable and salads, with lot of reduction in ghee, oil, butter, sugar, sweets, aerated cold drinks, fruit juices, icecreams, namkeens after middle age to maintain the body properly and for avoidance of diseases. Of course the water consumption should be between 2-3 litre daily. Some exercises, walking, brisk walking, jogging etc. are also necessary for minimum 40 minutes per day to keep fit and for increasing the metabolic rate. Skipping breakfast or meals or fasting may temporarily reduce weight for the time being but the weight gain is much faster once you come back to your previous eating habits. more
Have good balanced food and eat to the glory. Do good exercise and lot of conceptual thinking and enjoy life like mahatma Gandhi, Churchill, and others. So no weight gain but brain gain. Heart will be in love with youthful body and brain will be healthy with solid functioning other body systems. more
