Will railways soon be sold to businessmen

Because instead of providing a post pandemic relief to people of the country, it is increasing the burden of on their head. They had smashed the earlier 50% concession given to the senior citizens.

Plus, they had an increased fare for tickets despite of not provinding the blankets.

Now the minister says given concession is not desirable. Shame hai yaar.

Bechene wale ho railways ko to clearly bolo na. more

It is GOI which will be benefited and general public will suffer. Railways, in present form, is not a viable organisation and ever since Sri Suresh Prabhu (he was an outstanding Chartered Accountant & Manager though he didn't last long) took over as railway Minister, Efforts are being made to make it not only commercially viable but facilitate growth. Both are not possible either for Public sector or Private Sector. With unsustainable Air Travel, if Railways collapse, Country will find it difficult to manage transit requirements. more
Railways have very strict compliance for Quality. RDSO(Rail Design & Safety Organization) in Lucknow at Maanik Nagar never compromised on Quality. However of late many Private Players have been involved in developing new bogies (Aluminium body tilting run)...considering that our Trains run packed to capacity and beyond, such technologies may turn into a disaster. If Railways were to be taken over by Private players, neither the existing staff could get salary scales to their benefit nor will any compensation be paid to them in case of emergencies like Covid. more
Yes, It may be sold to you .be ready with cash. more
Atleast railway employees won't allow that to happen otherwise where from they will get 79 days bonus in COVID time without trains running and railways claiming to have no money for Sr Citizen concession. There must be partial privatisation for that forced monopoly to feel the heat and people will have both choices. In any case in the name of dynamic fare railways are no better than brokers. more
Govt has clarified that it will not privatise Indian Rly etc. However to my opinin it is foolish to say in the RTI query that abolition of 50% concessions to Senior Citizens etc. Hence we senior citizens must take up the matter with hon'ble Prime minster for its immediate restoration more
