Will the Tamil Nadu budget solve the grim issues confronting the state ?
Today, the ground reality is that Tamil Nadu’s financial conditions have become extremely critical. TANGEDCO is having a debt of Rs. 1.5 lakh crore and it is still borrowing. State government has overall debt of more than Rs. 6 lakh crore and it is still borrowing . In the case of Transport Corporation the situation is no better.
It appears that while taking more and more loans , there is no concern about the repaying capability , as even the interest burden has become a very big sum and requiring substantial segment of revenue to be used for the interest payment.
Even as the state is debt ridden, unnecessary expenses are being incurred in constructing memorials , opening parks etc. which are avoidable considering the Tamil Nadu’s finances at present and which can be postponed
Tax evasion due to corruption in administrative machinery are very high now.
Farmers in delta region are suffering as the government officials are said to be demanding bribe to complete the procurement process for paddy. Several other grave allegations are repeatedly published in the media
While the non issues are being discussed in high decibel , one is not sure whether the present budget will solve these grim issues atleast in part.

NEET is a non issue, none of parents or students interested to revoke rather support due to 500ods govt school students admitted in medical. But TN govt raising this repeatedly only to divert public attention towards failure of DMKs elections promises.. and repeated failures.like this many more nonissues..

It's the freebie culture which is responsible in a large part. Then contracts for infrastructure ia awarded purely for personal enrichment. Education is a mess, it is only to make money for the educational institutions (mostly owned by those with political connections) and to keep students unemployable and poor so that votes can be bought. Every state department is corrupt. Utilising central funds for smart City projects is a joke, it is only for collecting money from contract kickbacks and the smart city infrastructure already completed is not maintained and in a pathetic state. Why do the TN government not concentrate on essential services like daily drinking water supply, sewage connections, garbage removal and disposal? Even the occasional garbage collector makes his appearance and then asks for gratification.
