What about the HUGE Customs Duty and Excise Duty and VAT and label registration charges? All of these cumulatively add to increase the cost 10 times!!! more
Wine is an item for getting profit for the government. They do not care for the quality and in case any one dies, they simply appoint commission to enquire into the matter and people forget after sometime. more
Even the Investigating Officers are getting transferred and cases set for long lead and drop even . Public became so cheap . more
I was the COO OF INDIA GRAPE PROCESSING BOARD. ..3 to 4 years back and was keen and initiated the standards . Draft was sent to. FSSAI . Unfortunately wine producers for obvious reasons are not supporting this Same about other drinks ... many so called whiskies from India are made out of molasses and hence can’t be called whiskies more
I also join all the members as far as the quality of liquor is concerned . The Tipplers needn't be treated as second or third class citizens . They pay all the taxes before buying like any other citizen. They are not consuming contraband item. It is a legal drug that is being used . ACTION MUST BE TAKEN AND ALL CITIZENS HAVE THE CONSUMER RIGHTS TIPPLERS OR NON TIPPLERS. more
I had this doubt; why red wines of different prestigious and costly brands taste almost alike and not very different from their cheaper cousins. Then what is the use of purchasing premium brands! more
