Withdrawal of Senior Citizen concession

While Railways have paid huge bonus to it's employees when other company employees are struggling with salary cut/closure/ layoff/job loss, Senior Citizen concession is still not re-introduced.
It appears this Government is least bothered about senior citizens and want them to starve with bank interest being much lower than actual inflation.

Concessions to senior citizens are deprived, whereas all concession and benefits are extended to politicians for doing nothing. These politicians enjoy life long pension, but, government keep depriving benefits to senior citizens, who continue to pay tax. more
They not only get pensions/DA/medical
reimbursement but free travel by air/rail
in Executive class/1st class for self & spouse,
security 24x7 for life. If you work out the
cost of such mindless freebies, it runs into
lacs/month. more
Yes, travel concessions for senior citizens must be restored. Nonetheless, we can assume that government has not done so to restrict seniors from travelling in these trying time. more
If they give that lame excuse of restricting senior citizens this way, it's silly. Anything is possible by Indian government organizations running with taxpayer's money. more
Senior citizens for the very reason of their age, have been longest loyal railways customers, and also legacy bearers, travelling by trains since a time when air travel, i.e. pre-liberalisation era before the mid 1980s with Indian Airlines was the only available aviation option, then considered luxurious, and also with monopolistically high prices, being unaffordable. Railways now compete with airlines and customer enjoys the monospsony, above situation being reversed, therefore let the aged who have patronised the environmentally friendly mass transportation reap the fruits thereof. Please restore senior citizen concessions, a beacon of continuity, amidst change. more
I have written about this concession to senior citizens earlier also. We are not a big vote bank- hence the govt is ignoring us. How many times this point has been raised but I doubt anyone in the Railways is reading our pleas. more
