Withdrawing Senior Citizens concession on Railway station.
A report in 17th January 2016, Hindustan Times re Senior Citizens discount. What do senior citizens get from the Government that they plan to cut/restructure the senior citizens discount. If you cannot give more, than at least do not take away what they already get. more

Is it fair that Sleeper Class passengers subsidise Senior Citizens to travel in 1AC? The railways have a set budget, so have to keep all fairs higher to help recoup money lost to concessionary fares. Do any airlines offer Senior Citizen discounts? more

Is this about Senior Citizen discount in First AC? I can't find the news item you refer to, either on the Hindustan Times website or via google, the only recent report I can find is about the railways looking into most concession fares to see what can be changed (Financial Express, Jan 18th), it suggests that it's unfair to get Senior Citizen discount if travelling in First AC. more

All concessions should be linked to the PAN number, if the persons income is limited then concession can be claimed. There is no point in giving concession when the person has adequate sources of income by means of rent/interest etc. If a person avails of it by falsification of data, the dues should be recovered by the IT department. more

The present hike in A/C fares has taken care of the collection even from senoir cior citizens. But yet like the withdrawal of Cng subsidy for those earning over 10 lakhs a year , for the senior citizen of this catagory concession should be withdrawn. more
