Women and Child Safety - Whitepaper
We request that in this whitepaper, the problems and needs of Senior citizens of this country should also be included. It is forgotten responsibility and dire need of the present day to make all Senior Citizens/ Pensioners of this country (irrespective of caste, community, or Religion) come under one Umbrella in order to remove the sufferings of Old/senior citizens and also pensioners of India. The Ministry of this should enables Senior citizens to voice their grievances and ventilate their socio/economic problems, Rights of Elderly persons as envisaged in Fundamental Rights, Security & Abuse of Elders,neglect of Elders and other related problems. It is needless to say that Elders in each household, whether they are rich or middle class or poor, are illtreated, abandoned and left on the streets or sent to orphanage, their pension/savings are taken away and kept them as slaves in the family by their own wards. Added to the torture of diseases the undergo, the Elders brutally Taxed by Government in all ways. No where elders are given due respect and treated with curtsy. Many Elders commit suicide silently due to torture they encounter in their life, like financial burden and taxes they have to pay, commitments towards family, ill treatment of wards, etc. Small Doll given by State Govt., do not reach the mouth of the Elders.Any number of Acts, Rules and directions have not solved the problem of Elders in India. Hence a detailed WHITE PAPER NEEDS TO BE PREPARED just like for Women and Children, without delay. This is unorganized sector of the society and Government of India alone have to take care of. more

This is a subject being raised by many in 2015 even repeatedly due to the ills set in the Society . Some Acts Like Land Ceiling made the real Social personalities those funded for Schools and Hospitals with free Land and Donations , had to suffer with confiscation of set lands. This in the other way also set some Senior Citizen away from the befitting wealthy Seniors and went in paucity and Strive . The Serious and bitter issue is that the Governments from 2005 taken away the rights of these Senior Citizen being Kartha of the Family Holdings , a further Share dividing and devolving towards Female members who inevitably do have their shared enjoyments of her Husband . In some cases , those once given off the Female Share to the Government at the implication of Land Ceiling till 2005 in life of this Act , HAD TO ONCE AGAIN APPORTION EVEN FROM THEIR OWN BALANCE even in the capacity of a the then Successor and present Senior / Kartha of the Family . This un-justified act of the Governments made even the Senior Citizen of some minimum Property lose off and become dependent on others . The Socio-economic condition of Citizen in general after 1995-2000 due to acute shortage of Earning Facilities to their Children made the whole situation to strive and starve which the present statistics of 2011 also prove considerably . The present situation is still worst requiring positive help from the Governments and the Businessmen's Social Responsibility . It in deed require the governments to set up Senior Citizen Assistance Society in every District head quarter and , the Old Age Homes in every Taluq / Tahsil Head-quarter with a designed plan of Training , Teaching , Crafting and Micro & Cottage Industry so that the possible and able will perform and participate while the other will assist . This such Centre may also absorb Specially Abled / Physically Handicapped or those who remain alone in old age . more
