Here is a summary of key issues as listed by you on workings of DDA.
Kindly help identify Root Causes for these issues. Once the Root Causes are known, we will review the Solutions and submit a whitepaper to CM and his leadership so appropriate actions can be taken.

Workings of DDA - Key Issues
1. Too much corruption within DDA
2. Getting work done through DDA is very tough
3. Getting approvals for building a house or getting other construction done is a difficult process
4. You can’t get papers related to your own property without paying a bribe
5. Files are pushed from one department to another
6. Rules and regulations are not clear
7. DDA allotments are never transparent
8. Employees never reach office on time and leave early more

I just want to know if any member on this forum ever got any legitimate job done in DDA - like mutation/ free hold etc without paying any bribe. more

No doubt there are problems with DDA. However let Delhi Govt concern itself with what is under its control rather than dissipating energy on what is not. Delhi Govt can and should instead try and develop good coordination & relations with Ministry of Urban Dev & Housing. Bringing DDA under Delhi Govt is no solution, today you have AAP Govt, next time it may be some other party who in their populist frenzy will use DDA to make Delhi a slum. more

First AND foremost, DELHI Govt. MUST be given full powers over DDA so that proper activities & WITHOUT ANY CURROPTIO land development work could be earnestly taken up more

DDA improvement means real Delhi Development business. So Various aspects do need serious introspection. I need not comment on various infrastructural change over for last 15 years but it is high time that a holistic & systematic approach is in place. I am putting up few attributes for consideration: 1. The Govt (itself and through private sector) is developing new areas for housing and other purposes in Delhi as well as NCR areas, so that the increased demand is taken care off. However, still the unauthorized colonies and slums gets added up at the same pace. The gross root reasons are two. One that all the areas available in Delhi ( village/ gram panchayat notified or not) have either been not marked, classified for land use or master planned for development. So a prospective future plan with micro scientific details has to be developed intrinsically for all such identified areas and nothing has to be left out. Let 2015 is the cut year where satellite base data is generated. The 2nd aspect in this regard has to be to plan systematically for the housing of the work force working in Delhi. The present day slums have to be developed over a period of time with sanitation and beautification plan creating additional housing facilities. The generation of revenues like of national high corridors needs to be given thought on this aspect as well. 2. The DDA has so for been seen as a Govt agency who created housing facility and made profits, there is nothing in the public mind where it can be viewed as developing agency which plans for Delhi development, its over all requirements, future needs and ploughing back of profits for the welfare of the populace. This aspect if analyzed critically shall answer for all the FAQs including constructions, reconstructions, renovations & repairs etc. This and many other things can be elaborated further. more

DDA has to redefine the meaning of Delhi Development Authority . DDA has to understand the difference between anti earth and pro earth development . DDA has to learn the comparison between colony parks and colony forest.DDA has to become a proactive organization rather than being reactive one - as at present . more
