Worth spending serious thought on it.......?

Yes, the subject here is the number of VIPs in India and the free perks that are given to them at the cost of the taxpayers' money.

One wonders how much money and manpower is spent by our country's administration on "security and freebees" for our VIPs and their families. "Do they actually deserve it?", is a question frequently asked.

Now, these and many other things are "inheritances" from the so-called "Raj-culture" which was construed primarily to favour the English rulers.

Time to think that we Indians give up the Raj-culture-perks and develop and project national unity towards the outside world. We showed this unity in the fight for independence, led by Mahatma Gandhi. Today, the name India has re-found international recognition. One should protect it.

With the red-beacon culture having been removed, with the Railways having shrunk the "reserved" VIP-quota for seats down to 50%, it would not be out of place to take some practical steps to reduce or even remove the benefits from some of the not-so-important VIPs in this country.

Our country needs "transformation through reforms".... more

Madam, I quite agree with you. In fact I would say we have not become Independent because we have not earned that. Circumstances forced Britishers to part with their Rule in India because they were afraid that they do not have strength to continue to suppress people and it makes economic sense to hand over Rule, take a good name and take advantage of that to further the interest in TRADE. We have continued to remain dependent on them from 15-08-1947. We have for all practical purposes borrowed their Constitution and all practices set by them as rulers - obviously to suit rulers. We have not changed any laws or court practices. In addition because of our own people occupying positions of power and decision they are tempted to favour their own clan by bending the law - which was also done by Englishmen but that number was small and could not be questioned as they were Rulers. British laws, interpretation, & Judges in UK and India were different. That is why Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Veer Vinayak Damodar Sawarkar appealed for their cases to be tried in London Court. Today if Judge/Tahasildar/S.D.O. is absent and litigants have reached the Court, they are simply told to take next date and are not compensated for their loss of wages, expenses, and trouble. Executives like Tahasildar, S.D.O. continue to deliver judgements without properly explaining how they have arrived at that conclusion. This results in Appeals and increases avoidable load on upper courts causing avoidable strain on such courts and litigant. In every law Rulers had kept a clause that in the performance of duties any action or omission of action by "Ruler" executives cannot be challenged in court of law unless his bad intentions can be proved. This is over protection to executives and because of that they have become corrupt and careless. Also the principle of all men equal before Law- enshrined in the Indian Constitution stands violated. This must change if we are really Independent. RYK. On Sat, 06 Jan 2018 14:26:13 +0530 Satya Pal Ratti wrote > more

Sustained peoples' movement will force the powers to be to change their attitude and stop treating public wealth as their own. So, friends, let us continue with our efforts and push through these discussions and dialogues and build up data in order to make representations through our MPs and right upto the PM's office. Thank you more
Very Right Sir Ji more
Lots of money and manpower is spent by our country's administration on "security and freebees" for our VIPs and their families and in India the number of VVVIPs are 33468 numbers. It is the largest in the world. 40% of the ITBF are being utilised for them, when there are lots of laxity in the security system in the country. But unfortunately, in this parliamentary democracy the voice of the public has no value, except the vote (once in a five years). more
Public Oriented or, Socially bound only can lead without personal security. Principles of Rule if applied, Govt. Security also does not tender a costly provision. more
