Does this discussion involve only air pollution...we never find a mention of sound pollution by loudspeakers 5 times a day for the whole year all over the country and killing animals causing nuances and water pollution. These pollutions are going on unabated and nobody speaks a word about these types of pollution. Are these acceptable? more
Let us see if this ban on crackers by some wise persons/governments will be applied during Christmas & New year also or the ban was only for Diwali more
Welcome looking forward to useful contributions from you. more

Crackers or any such cause contributing pollution must be banned throughout the country. Ensuring healthy life of people should be the first priority and everything else is secondary. However, in a country like ours ruled by majority where votes are paramount, , we can never expect our politician to muster enough courage to take such unpopular decisions and voted out from power. That is why often it is due largely the activism of socially conscious Judges that atleast something has been made possible to control pollution, e.g. regulation of vehicular pollution, industrial pollution, and what not....even ban of crackers in West Bengal & other States, though political class always tries to take credit of the same inspite of the fact that they have virtually done nothing to seriously ban polluting sources! more
