Yatri Mitra Seva - Inputs Sought

Based on your inputs via this circle for the Rail Budget 2016-17 to improve services, Railways is looking at introducing a Yatri Mitra seva.

With this seva, elderly, differently-abled, ailing passengers will have better travel experiences and this seva will improve access to wheelchairs, battery operated cars and porter services and these services will be available across all major stations.

We will be looking at partnering with NGOs/PSUs/Charitable trust and if not feasible than through private operators.

We would like to seek your inputs on the current issues faced in this regard so the same may be incorporated to the best possible extent in the services that will be introduced. more

Yatri Mitra Seva - ISSUES 1 The approaches to platforms are not convenient for differently-abled. 2 There is no earmarked space for parking by differently-abled. 3 The Loaders ( Cooli ) are not helpful to such persons. 4 There no concept of RAILWAY ASSISTANT to help such needy passengers. At Airports, there is a specific counter for proving assistance. The Assistant there ensures that the passenger is carried on a wheelchair to Security Check Gate and aircraft. more
Survival of citizens and honest public servants has become difficult Govt including Railways is hijacked by the Mafia gang of Corrupt Public Servants.. Only Don is changed earlier it was Sonia and now Don is Mr. Modi.. more
To start with the second para points will be of immense help more
Ramp or lifts are best solutions since escalators are a bi t difficult for sr.citizens and patients. There should be light-senstive or proximity alarms at at about min 2 feet from the edge of platform parallel to platform which will deactivated as the engine reaches the stop and become active again after the engine starts an leave the platform. more
