In addition to the above cities, Madurai, Tamilnadu is a city which has a lot of unpreserved historical sites and tourist attractions... It is important that we as descendants of our heritage and culture take action in preserving it and boasting about it to the outside world... more
For making Heritage City, the history, geography, arts, dresses, food habits, crops, fruits, vegetables, means of entertainments, herbs for medicines, ancient medical systems, various technologies for roads, building, bridges, factories, education system, astrology, other occult sciences/arts, languages and their dialects, industries, means of transports, rivers, sea beaches, lakes, ponds, water waste lands, deserts, hills, important places of worship, sacrifice etc. are to be taken out from ancient and medieval history. A nearby place is to be reserved for making the mini old and medieval city along with a museum for tourist. The existing city is to be given some changes incorporating the old tradition, culture and other positive aspects of ancient and medieval times of that city. The name of city should carry a message in 4-5 words i.e. Agra- The City of Taj Mahal, Varanasi- The city of Lord Shiva with pious bath ghats, Mathura- The city of Lord Krishna with Raas Leela, Gaya- The city of Buddha enlightenment & homage to parents & ancestors etc. more
The State Government concerned Ministry and local bodies can support it and voluntary organization like Junior chamber Rotary can also support. MS.KRISHNAN CHENNAI more
Apart from above issues cleanliness and safe traffic movement needs attention. more
