Corruption can only be stopped if we make our laws and rules transparent and easy to understand and without referring to other sections of other laws. Secondly the cost of being honest should be reduced in the form of lower taxes and counter taxes under different laws. In most cases, the cost of honest business adds upto 50% of the basic cost of most transactions when we consider VAT, Service Tax, Excise, Octroi, Customs duty, Income/Capital Gains Tax, Stamp Duty, etc etc. The ultimate sufferer is the consumer and that is where the main focus has to be so that the commercial establishments are incentivised and not de-motivated. To effectively and substantially combat corruption in public life, ELECTORAL REFORMS need to be taken up. Communalism, Criminalization and maintainance of a Corruption Mafia- all these can be attenuated or eliminated by cleansing political corruption through thoughtful Electoral Reforms. The Supreme Court Judgement on 2-1-2017 can be held and hailed as a Landmark for beginning the task of eliminating Communal Corruption of electoral process. Corruption can not be stopped till we keep overrating success, even more than goodness. We as a society have to stop worshiping success and have to start worshiping goodness. After-all the one who succeeds in life enjoys the fruits of success himself. Why should we worship him? The society is not being benefited from his success. Its the goodness that is important for society. If we overrate success, then the children see this and thereafter want to succeed at any cost, (even at the cost of basic principles).
