Zomato violating MRP laws
Listing food items above MRP. See attached. Can legal metrology send some inspectors to all their offices across India.

Such overcharging is being done by the restaurant but not by ZOMATO as bill is being raised by restaurant and ZOMATO is delivering food to consumers by adding delivery charges. Approach Consumer Forum for overcharging more

Unless the GST applied rate is mentioned near the MRP lable, this problem will continue. more

MRP in itself connotes that the seller can charge the retail price maimum to the limit mentioned on the pack. more

All packaged goods in India have to mandatorily bear MRP. MRP is the maximum price at which a commodity in packaged form may be sold to the consumer inclusive of all taxes. MRP was introduced in 1990 vide amendment to the Standards of Weights and Measures Act (Packaged Commodities' Rules), 1997. Prior to this amendment, manufacturers had the option to print either the MRP (inclusive of all prices) or the retail price (local taxes extra). The law of MRP in India is unique as India is one of the few countries where there is mandatory provision of displaying MRP on products. more

Could you refer / link to which section of which Regulation / Act / Rule specifies that products CANNOT / MUST NOT be sold above the MRP as printed on the package ? more
